How Much Does a
Kitchen Remodel in
North Jersey Cost?

We publish our bathroom prices because bathrooms are predictable. Kitchens aren't — cabinets alone can swing $30,000 in the same room. So instead of a number we'd have to walk back, here's what each scope actually costs and exactly what moves it.

Licensed, bonded & insured • Fixed-price Contract • 2-year warranty

Three scopes, three ranges

Ranges cover labor, construction materials and permits. You choose and buy your own cabinets, counters and appliances — same as we do bathrooms.

Everything in the Full Gut

Structural work, engineering and relocated mechanicals. The change homeowners are happiest they made.

Every range above is labor and construction materials only. Cabinets, counters, appliances, tile and lighting are chosen and bought by you, so you control that budget completely and we don't mark anything up. Your final number comes after an in-home visit — we measure, check what's behind the walls, then lock it in writing.

What moves the number

Cabinets — by far the biggest line

Stock, semi-custom and full custom cabinetry can differ by $30,000 in the same kitchen. This is the one decision that sets your budget more than anything else, and it's the first thing we talk through.

Whether a wall comes down

If it's load-bearing you need an engineer, a beam, and temporary support. That's typically $8,000–$15,000 before a single cabinet goes in — but it's also the change people are happiest with.

Moving the sink, range or fridge

Each relocation means new supply, drain, venting or a dedicated circuit. In older North Jersey homes it often means upgrading the panel too.

Countertop material

Laminate to quartz to natural stone is a wide spread, and the fabrication is as variable as the slab. Waterfall edges and mitred corners add meaningfully to both.

Flexible Financing Available

Spread the cost over monthly payments instead of paying up front.

Subject to credit approval. Loans provided by Acorn's lending partners.

We Come See the Kitchen

You Get One Clear Proposal

We Order First, Then We Build

A free in-home visit. We measure, check what we can behind the walls, and talk through layout, cabinets and how you actually cook in the room.

Line-by-line scope, a fixed price, and a target completion date. Cabinets, counters and appliances are yours to buy directly — no markup, no surprises.

Cabinets get ordered the day you approve. Demo doesn't start until they arrive — so you're not living without a kitchen while you wait for boxes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's a realistic kitchen budget here?

A refresh in the same layout runs $24,000–$38,000. A full gut with the same footprint runs $42,000–$68,000. Opening a wall or moving the sink and range pushes past $70,000.

How much do cabinets cost?

It's the biggest line in any kitchen — stock to full custom can differ by $30,000 in the same room. You buy them directly, so you control that number completely and we don't mark anything up.

How long will I be without a kitchen?

Order your cabinets before we demo and your kitchen stays intact the four to eight weeks they're being built. We'll tell you exactly when to place that order. On-site work is five to eight weeks, and we set up a temporary spot for your fridge and coffee maker first.

Why don't you publish fixed kitchen prices?

Because we'd be guessing, and a guess isn't a price. Kitchens depend on cabinet grade, whether walls are load-bearing, and panel capacity. We'd rather see it once and give you a number that holds.

What does removing a wall cost?

If it's load-bearing, expect $8,000–$15,000 before a single cabinet goes in. That covers the engineer, the beam and temporary support. It's also the change homeowners are happiest they made.

How do payments work?

Fifty percent at signing, which reserves your slot and covers permits and materials. Twenty-five percent at rough construction. Twenty-five percent at completion. Nothing before a signed contract.
